Painted pieces provide that added layer of realism to any design with the power of natural blending that renders an artist to really understand the evolving gradation of color hues (both within a single color and collaboration of several colors). I do enjoy a geometric approach to blending colors in painted pieces with a technique known as stippling. I utilize stippling in a lot of my pieces, especially where shading is needed to make the image/design pop!
